About the Pastor

Pastor Santos was born in San Francisco and grew up in the Bay Area. His mother regularly took him and his siblings to a church at Westside Baptist Church in Pacifica. At the age of 11, he was  invited to attend a special service at his uncle’s church. They were showing a movie called “The Burning Hell.” Being greatly convicted of his need for salvation through the movie, he bowed his head and accepted God’s free gift of salvation. During his teen years and early adulthood, he drifted away from God seeking the things of this world.   After graduating from high school in 1984, he attend and graduated from SFSU with a BA in General Biology in 1992. He planned to continue his studies and become a doctor. After graduation, God began to really work in his heart. Bro. Santos felt the emptiness of the call of the world and surrendered to the call of God. He left working for Genentech so that he could follow God’s call on his life.  In the fall of 1994, he enrolled in Hyles-Anderson College in Crown Point, Indiana. He met his future wife, Jean, a graduate of HAC. They were married in August of 1997. Bro. Santos graduated with a Masters of Pastoral Theology in May 1998 and felt that God would have him start a new church in California. The Santos’ moved to Antioch, California, in September 1998 and began preparing for the opening of a new church.  On December 6, 1998, Victory Baptist Church opened its doors for the first time.

The Santos have four children.  Emily, David, Joshua and Abigail
